Frequently Asked Questions

No. N4824S does not go out as a standalone rental. Every flight out of Mesa Gateway Airport includes an instructor, unless you’re completing designated solo requirements as part of a structured private pilot curriculum. Outside of that context, this airplane always flies with an instructor.
-
You and an instructor fly together out of KIWA with defined crew roles: one pilot flying, one pilot monitoring. Both pilots log PIC time simultaneously where FAR 61.51 allows. If you're an East Valley pilot building hours toward ATP minimums, crew-style time building in a 260-horsepower PA-32-260 is the most efficient way to log meaningful cross-country time in a high performance aircraft.
-
No. If you're crew-style time building and one of our instructors is acting as safety pilot out of Mesa Gateway, you are not charged a CFI rate. You pay the aircraft rate only. The safety pilot role is part of the operation.
-
Yes we do. Get in touch with us and let us know how many hours you’d like to fly, and we’ll get the block rate for your needs. Whether you’re building hours towards ATP minimums, or working towards private, instrument, and commercial training, its a great way to pay for hours.

That's a primary offering at Griffin Bros. Aviation. Under FAR 61.31, any pilot acting as PIC of an aircraft with more than 200 horsepower requires a high performance endorsement. N4824S qualifies. Get in touch and we'll structure the endorsement around your schedule and current experience level. We're based at Mesa Gateway Airport and serve pilots throughout the East Valley including Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, and Queen Creek.

East Valley pilots working toward ATP minimums, Phoenix area pilots who need a high performance endorsement completed to a professional standard, and pilots who want structured one-on-one CFI instruction from instructors based at KIWA who treat every flight like it matters.
